Technology of waste-free ammonium semi-dry desulfurization of flue gases
Effective reduction of emissions of polluting substances is one of the main factors in the functioning of modern heat energy. The use of ammonium compounds in the semi-dry desulfurization of flue gases will allow not only to obtain more than 96% efficiency, but also to produce dry ammonium sulfate (fertilizer). The project envisages the creation of a pilot industrial installation of ammonium semi-dry desulfurization at a power plant.
Purpose
Development of scientific principles and technical solutions for the implementation of ammonium semi-dry desulphurisation technology
Tasks
- experimental studies at laboratory facilities of the conditions for the use of various ammonium compounds as reagents in semi-dry desulphurisation;
- calculation studies of processes in the model unit of semi-dry desulphurisation using various ammonium sorbents, including modelling in the ANSYS FLUENT software package, with their comparison with the experimental results;
- determination of the maximum possible content of solid particles of fly ash in the desulphurisation sub-product – ammonium sulphate;
- development of the methodology for calculation of the semi-dry ammonium desulphurisation unit for small, medium and large capacity boilers;
- testing of the developed methods on selected boilers at TPPs and CHPs. Development of technical solutions for the implementation of this technology in the heat and power industry of Ukraine and the world.
Description
The idea of the project is to carry out applied research to address urgent issues of energy and environmental security of the country. The basis for the project is the scientific development of ITET NAS of Ukraine on the use of ammonia as a sorbent for the effective binding of sulphur dioxide under conditions of evaporation of drops of aqueous sorbent solution to obtain a dry by-product. The novelty of the research will be in its focus on the practical use of ammonium compounds for power boilers to produce dry ammonium sulphate as a mineral fertiliser.
